Most people would not prefer the idea about certain statistics. However, quantitative or numerical figure is very important when it comes to topics of drug addiction. Drug addiction statistics can help identify the problem areas as well as helping to understand better the current situation and dilemmas of drug addiction of a certain location.
In 2005, drug addiction statistics in United States shows that marijuana is the most commonly used drug. However, marijuana has always been the most commonly used drug over the years. In same year, over 76% of the US population was reportedly using marijuana. This figure is almost the same in 2004 but only 8% lower. It only shows that there is a significant increase of drug addiction statistics in the United States between the years of 2004 and 2005.
Undoubtedly, the increase in drug addiction statistic is very scary. There were reports of thousands of deaths and crimes that are attributed to drug addictions. Most of these deaths are people comprising the age groups of 21 and below.

It is estimated that 5% of the people coming from rehabilitation centers returned to their drug addiction activities after leaving the rehab centers.

The popularity of Methamphetamine or "Meths" is on its rise because of its inexpensive costs and category as a common household item. The effect of this kind of drug substance to its users is significantly high that cannot be obtained from any other regular kind of drug substance.
The scariest drug addiction statistics is the involvement of youths on the activity of drug addiction. There is a huge number or quantity of youth reports that had been introduced to one kind of drug or another, which happens on a regular basis starting by the age of 13. It was shown that almost 50% of kids at this age are already trying drugs. After sometime of years, 20% of these kids have already become addicted to numerous drug substances most likely before graduating from high school.
With the wild world out there, it is best that we should pay more attention on drug addiction statistics to protect our children as the future of the world relies on them. What will happen to our world if kids of young ages are starting their lives with involvement in drug addiction activities? I believe governments of every country in the world should immediately and seriously act on drug addiction problems to make the world a better place to live in.
